Creative Workshops for Teens
We are pleased to offer the following creative workshops here at Summer Shorts! Students can complete any workshop, in any order. Each week will focus on a different task and there are no prerequisites. Please note you can only register for one workshop each week, for a maximum total of 4 weeks per student.
Game Art

Get in the game! In this workshop students will design, structure and work on elements for their own video game using the latest gaming software in state of the art computer labs with dual monitors.
Animation
​
Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks! Ever wonder how animated films are made?
In this workshop, students will take conventional drawing techniques and ideas, and incorporate them into a digital space using 2D & 3D Animation software.
Broadcast | Journalism
​
Be the “me” in media and explore all things broadcasting. From street team interviews to in-depth podcasts, students will try their hand at hosting a diverse and entertaining live-on-air show. Students will also learn how to effectively operate all studio equipment.
Digital Design
​
A sneak peek into the wonderful world of graphic design! Students will use the latest version of the Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop to customize their own professional grade digital designs.
Digital Photo
​
Learn the art of capturing moments with your camera in this hands-on photography workshop! Over the course of the week, you'll explore different types of photography, from portraits to landscapes, and learn how to use your camera to create stunning images.
Digital Video
​
Step behind the camera and learn how to create engaging videos in this one-week videography workshop! You'll get hands-on experience with filming techniques, storyboarding, and editing to make your videos stand out.
Fine Art
​
Explore the world of visual art! Experiment with different styles and techniques using a variety of materials to create your own unique artwork. Learn how to sketch or paint to bring your artistic ideas to life, whether you’re a beginner or looking to further develop your own personal style!
