Creative Workshops for Teens
We are pleased to offer the following creative workshops here at Summer Shorts! Students can complete any workshop, in any order. Each week will focus on a different task and there are no prerequisites. Please note you can only register for one workshop each week, for a maximum total of 3 weeks per student.
Game Development
​
Get in the game! In this workshop students will design, structure and work on elements for their own video game using the latest gaming software in state of the art computer labs with dual monitors.
Animation
​
Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks! Ever wonder how animated films are made?
In this workshop, students will take conventional drawing techniques and ideas, and incorporate them into a digital space using 2D & 3D Animation software.
Broadcast | Journalism
​
Be the “me” in media and explore all things broadcasting. From street team interviews to in-depth podcasts, students will try their hand at hosting a diverse and entertaining live-on-air show. Students will also learn how to effectively operate the cameras, audio mixer, and other studio equipment.
Digital Design
​
A sneak peek into the wonderful world of graphic design! Students will use the latest version of the Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop to customize their own professional grade digital designs.
Digital Photo/Video
​
See life through a lens! Gain comprehensive working knowledge of today's digital SLR cameras and accessories. Exploring their creativity in state of the art studios, students will learn how to capture and edit professional photos and videos for their portfolios!
